A World War One pistol will be donated to the Australian War Museum today, after it was discovered at a home in Nowra.
A family found the firearm in an old work bench, while moving house.
Police believe it belonged to Corporal William Jones, and has been missing for around 70 years.
Shoalhaven police will today hand over the pistol to the Australian War Museum, where it will be put on display.
