Shocking footage shows Oak Flats High brawl

Shocking footage of two girls fighting at Oak Flats High School has been posted on Facebook.

The video originally appeared on the Illawarra hip-hop page, and shows the 14-year-old girls hitting and slapping each other - allegedly over a boy - while other students watch on.

It's been shared thousands of times online, before eventually being removed.

It's understood Oak Flats High School has suspended the girls involved.

The school has also warned other students they'll face serious consequences in they're caught sharing the video online.

"This is shocking footage - schools should be safe places.  We want teachers, students, and visitors coming to our schools to operate in a safe way," said Keira MP Ryan Park.

"This is inappropriate.  It should be dealt with severely.  These people should not be in schools and impacting on other people's learning," he added.

The Department of Education and Oak Flats High School said the behaviour isn't tolerated, and it's a once off occurance.
