Over 1,500 workers have rallied in Wollongong this afternoon as part of the national "Change the Rules" campaign, protesting slow wage growth.
A total of 22 unions were represented at the rally, which was heavily attended by steelworkers and University of Wollongong staff.
Arthur Rorris from the South Coast Labor Council says it was one of the biggest rallies the city has seen since the John Howard Workchoice Days, and plans are already underway for more campaigning.
Workers gathered in a number of cities across Australia today for union rallies.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry claims all up, six days of industrial disruptions will cost the economy $250 million.
