Wanted sex offender sighted in Nowra

A manhunt is underway for two convicted sex offenders on the run from New South Wales and Victorian Police.

Christopher Empey, aged 46 - was last seen in Nowra in December after fleeing Victoria. He was convicted of a violent rape back in 2002.

He was due to face court in November when police allegedly found his court-ordered GPS tracking bracelet smashed to pieces.

Police say in early December, Empey was captured on CCTV believed to be in Nowra selling his motorbike.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who may have seen him or can provide information on his movements and current whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Empey is urged not to approach him but to contact triple zero (000) immediately.

Those with information about his whereabouts are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
