The University Of Wollongong will be able to continue to researching breakthrough treatments for Brain Cancer, thanks to an anonymous donation.
$100,000 was anonymously donated to mark National Brain Cancer Awareness month.
The funds will allow the University’s Centre for Medical Radiation Physics to accelerate their research into targeted Nano-therapies.
Head of the UOW Research team, Dr Moeava Tehei says their ambition is to cure brain cancer without side effects, as currently, all treatments have adverse cognitive and somatic side effects.
She says without the generous funding, the team would need twice as long to complete the project.
