Teen charged after young girl locked in Albion Park Rail toilet cubicle

A teenager has been charged after he allegedly detained a young girl in an Albion Park Rail toilet cubicle on the weekend. 

Around 5:30pm on Saturday, a seven year old girl entered the public toilet on Station Road. 

It's alleged an unknown male stopped her from leaving the toilet block, pushing her into a cubicle and locking the door. 

The girl's mother attempted to forced the door open before the male opened the door and fled. 

Police were alrted and following investigations a 15 year old boy was arrested at a home nearby. 

He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with take etc person intend commit serious indictable offence, and common assault.

The teen was granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Wednesday 10 March 2021.
