Former rugby league star Chris Dawson has been arrested in relation to the disappearance of his wife, Lynette Joy Dawson almost 40 years ago.
The 70 year old was arrested this morning in Queensland and has been taken to Southport Police Station, where it is likely he will be charged over her suspected murder.
The mother of two hasn't been seen since 1982.
It follows investigations by Strike Force Scriven established to re-investigate the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, and the popularity of the investigative podcast The Teacher’s Pet.
Lynette Dawson’s family has been advised of today’s arrest and have requested privacy at this time.
