Illawarra fire stations will open their doors to the public tomorrow.
All fire stations between Helensburgh and Kiama will open from 10am -2pm for their annual open day, after being in limbo for 2 years.
Locals who don't have working smoke alarms in their home are encouraged to book an appointment on the day, with firefighters able to organise a time to install a new one free of charge.
Children will also have the opportunity to meet their local firefighters, sit in the truck, spray a hose and enter a colouring in competition.
