Local man charged following Figtree carjacking

Local man charged following Figtree carjacking

A man has been charged over an alleged carjacking at gunpoint in Figtree last week.

Police allege the offender approached another man on St George Avenue last Tuesday morning, threatening him with a firearm and stealing his silver Range Rover.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in Berkeley after a large-scale search.

A 42-year-old man was arrested at Lake Illawarra Police Station this afternoon and charged with robbery whilst armed with dangerous weapon.

He's been refused bail to face court.
