i98FM welcomes back Cameron Hilder to Illawarra airwaves.

i98FM welcomes back Cameron Hilder to Illawarra airwaves.

i98FM is excited to announce that Cameron ‘Cam’ Hilder will once again be joining the team.

Fresh off his role as NOVA 96.9 Operations Manager, Cam returns to i98 as the new Workday Announcer from 9am –2pm each day as of August 23.

Cam’s radio career began at i98 in 2017, as a member of the i98FM Street Fleet before going on to study a Graduate Diploma of Radio at the Australian Film Television and Radio School.

He then went on to Townsville’s Hit102.5 as their Breakfast/Mornings announcer and did weekends for the regional HIT Network.

i98FM’s Station Manager Tia Davis commented on Cam’s appointment, “We’ve kept our eye on Cam since he left i98 - recognising even then his enormous potential.

With the experience he has gained both in Breakfast radio as well as at NOVA in a metro market, his talent and skill have continued to grow exponentially.

When the opportunity for a Workday announcer came up, he was the first person we approached and I couldn’t be more thrilled that he is returning to i98.

Cam epitomises the values of i98, understands our audience and the Illawarra community and I know our listeners will love him as much as we do.”

Cam is also looking forward to the move stating, “It’s an unreal feeling to come back to where it all started for me.

This is where I first got to see the inner workings of a radio station and how i98 has such an impact on the Illawarra community with things like the i98FM Illawarra Convoy.

No matter where I've travelled to, the Illawarra has always been special to me, so like the EURO trophy to England - I'm coming home! Except I'm actually coming home.

"i98’s Content Director, Andy Huxton also expressed his delight at Cam returning to i98FM, stating, “This marks an exciting transitional time for the Station and Cam returning to i98 is a big piece of that puzzle.

He is exceptionally talented, vibrant and will make an exciting addition to the on-air team.''
