Wollongong Council has received approval from the DPI Fisheries and a private landholder - to press ahead with repairs to Darkes Rd Bridge.
Councillor Linda Campbell says works are scheduled to commence next week.
It comes after more than 850 locals signed a petition - calling for the repairs to be fast tracked.
It's understood Avondale and Huntley Roads will also be renewed this week.
