Kiama Council and the University of Wollongong are the recipients of a $50 thousand grant to help make Kiama a "dementia-friendly" community.
The money will fund a project worker for 12 months to implement strategies that will improve community participation for people with dementia and their carers.
It follows a collaboration with Alzheimer's Australia to set up a Local Dementia Alliance following extensive research and the drafting of a community action plan.
